Working as a “sales assistant ”  in a shop can be a lot of fun and doesn’t require training or a lot to remember.

販売助手としてお店で働く場合、覚えることやトレーニングはあまり要求されず、楽しい仕事です。

 

What types of shops could I work in with little or no English language?

英語なしで、または少しだけで働くことができるお店ってどんなタイプがありますか？  

A lot of different types of shops advertise in “Shopping Guides ” that are given out to Japanese tourists before they arrive in a foreign country. These shops will want Japanese-speaking Sales Assistants.

海外旅行を始める前の旅行者はふつう「ショッピングガイド」と呼ばれる本を貰っていて、そこにはたくさんのお店が紹介されています。これらのお店は多分日本人の販売員を探しているでしょう。

The most common types of shops are “Gift Shops, Duty Free Shops,  Opal Shops, Watch and Jewel Shops”.

共通するお店のタイプは、ギフトショップ（お土産屋）、免税店、オパール店、貴金属や時計店です。

What will I be required to do?

僕は何を求められるでしょうか？  

Gift Shops will usually open from about 8.30 in the morning till about 10.30 at night. A shop will usually assign between a four and eight hour shift during this time. If you don’t like working a certain time a shop may give you work at a different time.

お土産屋さんはふつう朝８時３０分ごろに開店し、夜１０時３０分ぐらいまで開いています。お店側はたいていシフト制で従業員に４時間や８時間を割り当てます。決められた時間で働きたくない場合、お店側は違った時間帯の仕事を与えてくれるでしょう。
