Never give your passport to an Employer. It is OK to give a copy. If an Employer says you must give your passport, do not work for that company. It could be a trap.

パスポートのコピーは差し出しても問題はないが、原本は雇い主に預けないでください。雇い主が「パスポートを渡しなさい」という場合はそこで働かない方が良いです。落とし穴かも・・・・。

 

If you are in training at a company you should be paid. If they expect you to work for nothing find another company.

トレーニング期間中、給料は支払われるべきです。雇い主が無料奉仕を期待しているようなら新しい仕事を探しましょう。

 

 I know some Japanese working holidaymakers who train for months without getting paid. Even when they are working, the company says it is training. When it gets quiet they are fired. No pay and no job. The company then simply employers another Working holidaymaker and the vicious circle starts over again. If this happens or you hear it happening REPORT it to the local embassy.

私は長いこと給料なしでトレーニングを受けている日本人のワーキングホリデーの方を知っています。ちゃんと仕事をしているのに会社側はトレーニングと言い張ります。仕事が暇になった時には、彼らはクビにされるでしょう。お給料もなく仕事もなく。そして会社はまた新たなワーキングホリデーの人達を雇い、この不道徳なサイクルは繰り返されます。もしこのようなことが実際にあったり、起こっていることを聞いたら直ちに現地大使館に報告しましょう。
